The Limited edition 900 Superlight followed the success of the 1991 Supersport. Ducati went a step further than the norm, using the exhaust of the 888SP4, fully floating cast iron front brake disc centres, carbon fibre vented clutch cover, carbon mudguard and huggers and a single race style seat. The MK1 version also came with Marvic composite superlight magnesium wheel centres. This made the bike more of a factory world superbike than a bike for the average road rider, more normal now but very impressive and desirable at the time.

This MK1 superlight is a very good, standard original example. It still has the original screen including the sticker. Original mirrors and the filler cap is still original with the elephant logo. It has 2 sets of original cans included too.

The bike has one previous owner, a British biker living in Australia who owned and enjoyed it there for many years, the bike has so much service history with it for this period. He then moved back to the UK in 2004 and brought the Superlight back with him. He had it imported, MOT`d and registered, bought a mph clock but then didn’t ride it for a while whilst he settled. Time passes and it stopped being ready to just ride and years pass. We managed to get hold of the bike at the beginning of this year. An extremely in depth recommission service has been done by our mechanic who sold and worked on them in the 90s and so knows more about them than most will ever know. We have Been extremely careful not to take away any of the bikes patina whilst returning it to it former glory.
